Online healthcare services
The NHS is there for you whenever you need us, with more online services available to you than ever before.
You don't need your NHS number to make medical appointments or use online services but it can be useful to have it. Your NHS number, which is a 10 digit number like 485 777 3456, will be on any letter you receive from the NHS.

NHS App
The NHS App lets you order repeat prescriptions, book GP appointments and view your medical records. Download the NHS App here.
Order repeat prescriptions
You can choose where your prescriptions are sent. If you know you’ll be away from home or you're moving home, you can change your nominated pharmacy from within the app. You can also order your prescription at any time that suits you. There’s no need to wait to join a telephone queue or wait until your GP service opens. It’s easy to use but if you have a problem, go to ‘Help’ in the top right-hand corner of the app or visit Help with the NHS App.

GP services online consultation
GP online consultations are a way for you to contact your GP service without having to queue on the phone or take time out of your day to go to your GP service. Using a smartphone, tablet or computer, you can contact your GP service about a new medical problem or an ongoing issue. You can ask questions or tell your GP about your symptoms. Your GP services will make sure that your query is dealt with by the right person in the team, helping to make sure that everyone is served as quickly and appropriately as possible. There's more information on the GP online consultation page here.
